Unless I can get a place to keep him outside, Devo is dead to me.

I haven't been around in a while. Not much to talk about. I guess I could tell you how my night with Bloc Party went. I was kinda gonna save it for the article over at Circle Six, but why not share a few details with my adoring public? Yeah...that means you, Scott and Josh.

So I interviewd Kele from Bloc Party Friday night. I was stoked because this was the first in person interview and first time I was getting in to a concert for free since starting at Circle Six. So all day I'm waiting for 3 when I could leave and take a shower and leisurely make my way downtown for the interview.

Around 2 my boss asks me to go to the South Shore to get some supplies that we had ordered for this display one of our customers was doing. For those of you not familiar with New Orleans geography, the South Shore refers to the area South of Lake Pontchartrain. The place I was going was about 40 miles from my office, so there was no way I was making it back to be off for 3. But, being the team player that I am, I went. Skip ahead to 4:15 and I'm waiting on my boss to bring me my truck so I can go home. Needless to say, I was not happy at how the afternoon was turning out.

Ok. I have my truck. I'm on my way home. Everything's gonna be fine. Right? Wrong. I get home and start to get cleaned up as fast as I can - it's pushing 5 and I'm supposed to be at the interview for 6:30 - when I discover a present my lovely dog-in-law has left me. It seems he became interested in plumbing while I was away and decided to chew a hole in the tubing that feeds water from the wall hookup to the tank of the toilet. There was a pinprick leak spewing water all day long on my bathroom floor. No big deal right? Turn the water off. Clean up the floor. Done. I'll deal with the tubing tomorrow.

I'm on the bridge driving to the South Shore, again, when I get the phone call. It's Faith. She's on the verge of tears. It seems that the water wasn't content to stay on the bathroom floor. No. It had to leak under the walls and completely soak the carpet in the adjacent hallway. Oh joy of joys. Now I have to chose between a free concert with one of my favorite bands at the moment and skipping the concert to wetvac my hallway. You don't know how much I wanted to throw a pitty party and tell my wife to go get the wetvac herself and let me have my fun. You don't know how much I wanted to slit that dog's throat and smile at the horrid sounds it made. But I sacked up and took one for the team.

The interview went well. He was an easy guy to talk to and I'm hoping it comes across well in print. I had to cancel on a few friends that were going to come to the show with me, and I felt like crap for that. I went home and sucked water out my carpet. I thought about listening to the Bloc Party cd while I was doing it, but that would have just made it worse.

So that was the hilight of my weekend.
